The Goals of Cider Painters of America are to:
- Create Miniature Paintings
of Excellence
- Encourage Public Awareness
and Enjoyment of Miniaturism
- Include Members from Every
State in the Nation and across the globe
The Cider Painters of America
is proud to be a part of the exciting renewal of the ancient
art of miniaturism.
Founded in 1983 in Dallas,
Pennsylvania, the C.P.A. was inspired by the Whiskey Painters
of America and the Scotch and Watercolor Society.
Our group is unique in that
the painted surface can be no larger than 3" x 5".
In other words a standard note card must completely cover the
painted area of work. With this in mind we have become one of
the societies with the smallest paintings. Our members paint
in the tradition of miniaturism following the belief that any
subject suitable for a larger work may also be used to create
a masterpiece in miniature.
Our group represents artists
from all over the world who come from different backgrounds.
We are governed by an Orchard Board representing "Apple
Artists" from across the United States as well as other
countries. We nurture our "Seedling Artists" through
scholarships and awards at our exhibits. Our members are kept
fertilized through information, news and updated postings in
our quarterly newsletter "The Cider Press."
Each fall season we hold
an International Exhibit for our members in northeast Pennsylvania
(see details of 2021 Exhibition below).
